What You Should Know About Chandeliers

Chandeliers are commonly seen in churches, domes and mansions. They have been used to mark the wealthy and the rich. However today, it is not anymore limited to those people with high social status. You can see chandeliers in any type of house. These home accessories surely provides accent to any room giving it class and sophistication.

Chandeliers are not always fancy and elegant. Today, there are a wide selections of different chandeliers. There are crystal chandeliers, stained glass, contemporary, teacup or even colonial chandelier available for you home. You can also choose the size from an eight feet high chandeliers to a two feet high ones. You can use them in any part of your house. You can install them in your dining room, living room, bedroom, kitchen and entryways. It will surely accentuate that particular room where you placed it.

These are rather expensive and you are not expected to replace them every now and them. So you should be careful to what type and design you should purchase. You have to take into consideration the architectural design of your house. It should compliment with it as well as the ambiance and the atmosphere.

The size of the room is a very critical factor. You do not want a very big chandelier hanging on your very small room. It will make the room look much smaller. Choose for the right size. A high ceiling requires a much bigger and wider chandelier compared to low ceilings. You can also have more layers with while with the low ceilings, 1 to 2 layers will do.

For bedroom, bathroom, living room, hall or entrance, take the measurement of your room and add them to get the appropriate circumference of your chandelier. If your room is 15 ft by 12 ft, then your circumference should be 27 inches. If the ceiling is high, you can add up to 6 in more to its circumference. For its height, it should be hung at least 7 ft from the floor is adequate to prevent bump heads.

For dining room, do not choose a chandelier that is wider than your dinner table. Select a chandelier that is half the size of your table. It should be hung at about 30 to 36 inches above the table for good illumination.

Lighting requirements are also important. You do not want your guests blinding due to too much light. Be sure to use always the right wattage that your chandelier has recommended. Some chandeliers have dimmers that can enable you to adjust lighting depending on the amount of light you require.

Chandelier Care. These are quite expensive so you need to take good care of it. A good cleaning once or twice a year is all that you need to maintain its shine and glossy look. Just make sure that whenever you want to clean them, turn off the lights off to prevent unnecessary harm. - 33393
